Unfortunately, I think that sometimes white people dismiss styles due to racial reasons although they might not consider themselves actually racist. The styles that you list, aside from being considered "black music" are also different enough or complex enough that it takes active listening and an active attempt to self-educate yourself to fully appreciate if you have not grown up in those communities. From my experiences, white people might not listen to classical music for the same reasons but they won't dismiss the music out of hand because of it's origins.
